Kitchen Remodel

First Completed Real-Life Project
From Outdated to Rustic Transitional

Your parents can be both your worst and best clients - everything is personal, but it's also a great opportunity to think through every little detail and square inch of a space more than you might normally since it's something you have personally used. It has also been extremely beneficial seeing how a project actually comes together and becomes a reality. The experience of taking a project through completion is beyond what hypothetical construction documents in school can provide.

The goal of this project is to bring a much needed update to this 80's-built kitchen; the look is "rustic transitional," a space that has its roots in the traditional home and Southern culture, while looking updated and modern with a slightly industrial spin. The material palette includes new dark bamboo floors, white shaker-style cabinets, white quartz countertops, a reclaimed-wood feature wall, stainless appliances, and mosaic and black-subway tile backsplashes.
