Who Am I?

Senior - c/o 2016

Interior Design Harding Univ.

What Do I Do?

Currently an Interior Design major at Harding University, I have a background in Historic Preservation, spending my first year and a half of school at the beautiful College of Charleston (SC). But things change sometimes, and I ended up at HU, where I play baseball as well. After completing my bachelor's degree, I plan on attending graduate school to get an M.Arch and eventually professional license.

My Philosophy

Architecture  and design are both reflections and creations of culture and community. As cultural and communal entities, architecture and buildings have the ability to empower and effect positive change in the world. Olson Kundig Architects, on their website, state that “…buildings can serve as a bridge between nature, culture, histories, and people, and that inspiring surroundings have a positive effect on people’s lives.” The end of design, as Olson Kundig allude to, is people; my undergraduate experience as an interior design major at Harding University has helped me see that architecture is about more than volumes, forms, and materials. Enriching the human experience by connecting people to nature, culture, and history is what makes design meaningful and worthwhile.
